Sudoku Rules

The sudoku puzzle is mostly a 9-by-9 grid made up of 3-by-3 subgrids. Some cells already contain numbers, known as givens. The goal is to fill in the empty cells, one number in each, so that each column, row, and region contains the numbers 1 through 9 exactly once. Each number in the solution therefore occurs only once in each of three "directions".

Or you can say there is only one rule. Every row, every column and every 3-by-3 subgrid should contain digits 1 to 9 only.

If you cut them seprately you will see that all column, rows and subgrids shows digits 1 to 9. Example shows below shows the first row, column and subgrid of the sudoku puzzle shown above
